I work differently.
I've been mixing professionally for over 20 years and making my own music for just as long. I know what it feels like to send a track off and get back something that sounds polished but doesn't quite sound like you anymore. I know the frustration of not understanding why and not being able to do anything about it.
That's why at Mixing Hertz, the process is open. You stay in creative control, you hear what's happening to your music and you leave with a better ear than when you started.
Whether you're coming into the Leeds studio or sending files from anywhere in the UK the mix gets finished and every session makes the next one easier.

Remote mixing
Send your session files or stems and we'll take it from there. You'll get regular updates, be involved in the decisions, and receive a mix that sounds like you were in the room.
In-studio mixing
Come into my acoustically treated mixing studio in Leeds, West Yorkshire and work through the mix alongside me. Ideal if you want to be hands-on, learn as you go, or just hear your music on a proper monitoring system for the first time.

Do I need to send stems or the full session?
Either works. If you're sending stems we'll need them properly exported and labelled, at the same sample rate, starting from bar one. If you're sending a session file I work in Logic. Not sure? Just get in touch and we'll talk you through it..
How many revisions do I get?
Revisions are included as standard. We work together until you're happy. Most mixes are done in two to three rounds.
How long does a mix take?
Typically five to ten working days from receiving your files. I'll always give you a clear timeline upfront.
Do you mix all genres?
Yes. I’ve mixed rock, punk, indie, pop, folk, electronic, hip hop and everything in between. Have a listen to the showreel on the homepage to get a feel for the range.
Can I come into the studio even if I'm not local to Leeds?
Absolutely. Based in Leeds, I work with artists across West Yorkshire, Sheffield, Manchester, Bradford and remotely across the UK and beyond. Artists travel from across the UK for in-studio sessions. If you're making a trip of it, get in touch and we'll make sure the day is worth the journey.
What happens after the mix — do you offer mastering too?
Yes. Find out more about my mastering service here. I can master the track once the mix is signed off, or we can use my regular mastering engineer, eentirely your call
