Your dedicated space for better sounding music
After moving to Leeds five years ago and falling in love with the local music scene I knew I wanted to open the perfect studio for home producers, DIY musicians, and independent artists. I asked my self; what do self producing artists need? What are their biggest struggles? And what are their barriers to entry? And then - how can I best serve them? What experience and skills do I have that they need?
Eventually a space came up in The Chapel Leeds, located in the heart of Leeds, West Yorkshire. Now I could design the Mixing Hertz Studio specifically for artists and home producers looking finish their own mixes and learn music production and mixing skills along the way.
I wanted to offer an acoustically treated studio with state of the art monitoring and expert guidance. A space self producing artists can finish songs that sound professional but without the commercial studio price tag.
Acoustically treated studio for accurate mixing
At Mixing Hertz, I’ve invested in top-quality acoustic treatment and state of the art monitoring to ensure that you can hear your mix with absolute clarity. This means you can trust the sound of your music and make accurate, informed decisions as you mix. Whether you're mixing vocals, drums, or full-band recordings, you'll hear every nuance in your tracks, so your final mix will translate well across all listening devices.
The monitoring set up is built around the Barefoot Footprint 03’s which a great sized speaker for the room. They come with a switch that replicates legendary speakers like the Yamaha NS10 and the Aurotone which are both amazing for dialling in the midrange of your mix. Helping your music translate on all different types of listening systems.
To support this amazing speaker set up we use the incredible Audeze LCD X Planar Magnetic headphones. These allow us tear every last detail of your mix in the lows, highs, reverbs and so on.
